A recent break in Suffolk gave the London Running PT team a chance to break out the medicine ball and film one of my favourite ab routines for runners…and not a crunch in sight!
Let’s face it, we all like hitting an abs workout for the aesthetic goal of the 6 pack (I would probably argue that putting more effort into your nutrition and working on your body composition that way, is a much quicker route to revealing a 6 pack, but that’s another post entirely) but your abs are also an incredibly important muscle group for running, generating rotational forces and working synergistically with the extremities to power us down the road.
So check out this routine. We used a 3kg medicine ball for this one. Let me know how you get on. This is definitely a fun workout.
